If you have already visited our blog you might have noticed that CloudGraph is a graph database created by the Danish web-startup called Webling.
CloudGraph was started as a separate project during the development of Webling, a xRM platform requiring very fast access to a highly interconnected dataset. We realized that the speed necessary to run Webling couldn't be achived by regular SQL databases. After studying the NoSQL- and graph database landscape, we found ourselves looking for a fast and scalable graph database with a native .NET connector that was open source or with a startup-friendly commercial license. Since we had no luck in finding a graph database that suited our criteria, we decided to build one ourselves.
In the summer of 2010 we wrote the first lines of code on what was later to become CloudGraph. At the time the graph database didn't have a name, but in December 2010 it was named CloudGraph.
